A 1:1 intimate memoir writing coaching program to heal the stories we tell ourselves and share them with the world.

I dared to rise...

In 2018, I dared to live journal my abusive relationship anonymously on Instagram through a pen name called Sincerely Miss Mary.

In 2019, I dared to publicly condemn my perpetrator, leading to a mass rejection from people who knew him.

In 2021, I dared to produce a memoir podcast called Mental Breakthrough, where I shared my story of escaping my abusive relationship, breaking generational trauma, and reclaiming my Cambodian identity through the writing process.

Now, I dare to coach you to write your memoir, build an online social media presence, and amplify social impact in the world.

You dare to be seen.

You dare to be heard.

You dare to write your story and share it with the world.

You dare to rise.

Dare To Rise is an intimate 6 month, 1:1 memoir writing coaching container. This intensive coaching program is for those ready to write their memoir and build an online author’s presence to amplify your message.

You will be learning the process of somatic trauma writing, an embodiment writing modality encompassing mind, body, and spiritual practices. I integrate somatic healing modalities for you to feel safe and grounded as you write challenging memories.

I will also be guiding you through the online publishing process, whether on social media, Medium, or pitching to your dream online publications, as well as coaching your mindset to manage your fears of sharing your heart with the world.

This program is for writers of all levels needing guidance to write their books.

Meet your wellness writing coach, Maryann

I’m Maryann Samreth, the founder and creator of Sincerely Miss Mary, a once anonymous pen name I created to live journal my emotional traumas and begin my healing journey. I have written over 100 published poems and trauma essays on Medium, Thought Catalog, and various digital mental health magazines. You can read my work here. I write deeply personal stories of escaping an abusive relationship, reframing my depression as a gift, and healing generational trauma. I have reached over 1 million people with my content on Instagram, Tiktok, and as the host of Mental Breakthrough Podcast. After psychoanalyzing my trauma writing process with mental health professionals, I created the embodied writing framework to safely guide writers through the process of writing their vulnerable stories.

Testimonials

I was looking for a push to write, but also to uncover the things that were blocking me from moving forward. Maryann definitely brings in her personal experience on her own path to trauma writing and writing in general, while also bringing in other experts in the mental health arena to help uncover and heal my authentic self. Also being a first-generation Khmer American, it was wonderful to have a space and a leader who could completely relate to my experience that I am writing about. Now, I have more confidence to tell my damn story and that's in large part because of her guidance, the content from the program, and also the group that I was in.

-Nancy Yeang, Writer/Yoga Instructor

The Dare to Rise program was a huge leap forward in my writing process. Maryann has a unique approach and a long list of resources to help you find your voice and share your story in your own time. I have always been drawn to writing but I never knew how powerful it could be to make meaning out of the most difficult moments in my life. Through this program, I learned how to see my own experiences in a new light and weave together the story of my life. Without Maryann's guidance and support, I wouldn't have been able to speak my truth for others to hear, first in a published essay and eventually through my memoir.

-Nicole Smith, Thyroid Cancer Survivor and Advocate

This memoir writing program changed my life and allowed me to unshackle myself from a lot of pain and fear that I was carrying in my body. Investing in Maryann meant I was investing myself. I knew I wanted to start a memoir but what I didn't realize was how much this process would help support my healing through intergenerational trauma, sexual abuse and verbal harassment. Maryann is very raw and honest with her own experiences, and I felt safe and held when I felt so vulnerable. She took me through an exercise that connected me to my higher self. That exercise gave me permission to release myself personally, which then helped me propel my business.

Who is this 1:1 coaching program for?

Will you help us with the publishing process?

By the end of our 6 months you have will everything you need to submit a book proposal (chapter outline, book synopsis, email pitch) and the roadmap to completing the rest of your memoir.

If you’d like to self-publish I will direct you to editors and self-publishing companies.

What if I don’t think I have trauma or it’s not worthy enough to write?

This program is for anyone who wants to write about overcoming a challenge in their life, whether or not you experienced trauma.

Trauma is a response to an overwhelming event that can range from little T to big T. All trauma sizes can impact our core beliefs about ourselves, holding us back from our greatest desires to use our voices and take up space. An example of little t can be bullying as a child, and an example of big T can be a life-threatening accident.

We never compare our trauma to another because it all impacts us in different ways. You are always worthy of telling your story because chances are someone out there can relate to you.

What is embodied writing?

I am certified in integrative somatic trauma therapy and Somatic Experiencing Intermediate 3. I integrate somatic healing with writing, so you have a safe experience writing your story when reliving the past.

I teach you how to regulate your nervous system so you can stay grounded throughout the memoir-writing process.

Embodied writing is a framework I created when I used writing to help me heal generations of trauma. It’s an embodiment writing process that includes inner child healing and emotional regulation to access your embodied self where you can view your past with eyes of compassion, acceptance, and self-love.

Through this writing process, you transform and come out with a kick-ass story to share with the world.
