When You Know This Love Is Real
Love is real when you don't have to question it.
Love is real when you feel it in your bones when their hundreds of miles away.
Even when you’re terrified, there’s an essence of safety all around you.
It’s been surrounding you waiting for you to take notice.
To finally look up and into the sunlight with open eyes welcoming this love into your sacred heart.
And when this light encompasses your heart, the love vibrates activating every nerve ending.
It feels endless because it is.
It feels endless because it is unconditional.
For love has no limits and now you are safe to see it, to feel it, to breathe into its existence.
It’s time to surrender to this love.
A love you’ve been dreaming of and maybe long forgotten because you once sought potential love in the wrong hearts leading you to life lessons.
Lessons forging your path of discernment.
Discernment for those who belong to you and for those who never did.
You were once hurting but look at you now.
Walking forward to a love that is safe because you are ready to receive what you have always deserved in this lifetime.
A love force vitality has been waiting for you.
Because you were meant for good things in a world that retains so much darkness.
Despite everything you’ve been through, you archive your trauma ready to write a new story with a love that never lets you go.
A love that only asks you to surrender.
Surrender to be seen.
Surrender to be heard.
Surrender to be here.
So be here.
Be here now.
Be here forever.
This requited love is yours.

When the world feels heavy, I write poetry. When I don't know what it is I'm feeling or question what it is I should be feeling, I get out of my head and into my body and feel my way through the world with crafted words and rhythm. It's my way of feeling aliveness in a current state of wanting to numb myself from the trauma of this country.
Nothing makes sense and what makes sense is nonsense...words I wrote in 2018 at the height of my abusive relationship...and although I have long healed from that experience I see how much further we have to go to heal the broken system we live in.
And it all feels so overwhelming so maybe today I just let myself have a day in whatever way that looks like. I give you that permission too. To feel whatever comes. To feel it all to completion and allow it to fully pass through your body so you can exhale relief, even if it's just a little.
Have yourself a day today and don't worry about what it looks like.
Just feel your way through.
Sincerely,
Mary
