Healing Through Trauma Writing, A Memoir Update

I just wrote one of the toughest chapters of my memoir…and spilled every single detail in the latest episode of Mental Breakthrough Podcast.

I was guided to share more detail about my memoir writing process by my messaging coach.

She reminded me why the way I show up in my work is what makes me a great leader.

Because not only do I know how to coach people on their stories and through a somatic trauma-informed lens, but I also do this process myself.

And part of my authentic self-expression is sharing my process with all of you.

So in the latest episode of Mental Breakthrough, I do just that.

I share the process of writing my (TW⚠️ ) suicide story for my memoir.

It took me two years to write and what ignited the fire for me to begin writing this story were pings from my body, ready to process this moment.

I began processing what happened in 2020…through writing poetry and reaching out to the man who saved my life that day unknowingly.

It took me 2 years to write this story while also meeting guardian angels who helped me eradicate the shame from this moment that happened a few blocks from an abusive work environment.

I read this excerpt of my memoir at the end of this episode…I hope you listen if it’s not too triggering for you..and I hope you, too, are inspired by the process of going on an inner adventure to transform your pain into a powerful story.

Sending you all my love.

Sincerely,

Mary
