Why Love Happens When You Least Expect It

This week, I wrote an article about love to explain the saying of love happens when you least expect it. I even found myself saying it to my single friends and realized how unhelpful this saying is without an explanation.

For me, the way I fell in love with my partner was unexpected, specifically, the outcome.

You can’t plan for moments of falling in love.

You can’t plan for moments of joy.

You can’t plan for moments of laughter.

You allow them to happen. You swim in these moments, and when they pass, you have yourself a story.

I fell in love because I set out my greatest desires earlier this year. I desired to fall in love with someone who finally made me feel seen.

I believed I had to want this to open my heart to all the possibilities of love.

Love happens when you least expect it means to detach from the outcome. The outcome is the gift from the universe.

I would never want to know my current love story before I experienced it. I love every moment of experiencing the process of falling in love with my partner.

I am grateful for the unpredictable moments from the moment we met because it opened my heart to all possibilities, and allowed me to trust myself.

How your love story unfolds is a story only you can experience, for YOU, so you can then write it in the stars.

Read my latest Thought Catalog article, Why Love Only Happens When You Least Expect It.

Forward this email to any dear friend who needs hope, upliftment, and patience on their love journey.

Sincerely,

Mary
