Why The World Fears Empowered Women

We live in a world where empowered women get shamed.

We are programmed and conditioned to adapt to the needs of others, so when we do rise to our greatest potential, we feel like an imposter.

We feel guilty.

We fear leaving others behind.

Or worse

We make ourselves smaller to make others comfortable.

Well, what makes us an empowered woman is cultivating the courage to live freely within our truths instead of the constraints of the perception of others...and to the men reading this, it applies to you as well!

Being our most authentic selves is hard.

This is why Sincerely Miss Mary, my Instagram account, was anonymous for over a year.

I used this IG as an outlet to freely write my truths.

I felt safe on this platform to be my true self.

If you scroll to the beginning of this account, you can read over hundreds of poems about the abuse, gaslighting, and manipulation I was enduring and told no one about it.

Eventually, I became the person who advocated for herself and walked away from toxicity.

This is the power of writing.

I used this modality to help me become the person I am today.

It was my guide to getting me out of the shadow and into the light, and now I help others do the same.

Because we all deserve to be empowered to be who we are in this world.

Writing Tip: Write For Yourself
Write as if no one will ever read your writing because the truth is, you’re in control of that. The writing process is for yourself. This is your opportunity to be honest about your emotions as if no one will ever know because no one has to. This is you validating yourself...the secret to not caring what others think of you.
